For decades, one remarkable educator has quietly shaped the hearts and minds of generations of Hewitt students. Since the early 1990s, she has brought not only excellence in the classroom, but also genuine kindness, patience, and care to every child she teaches. Her dedication doesn’t stop when the school day ends—she can often be found cheering on her students at their games, performances, and activities, showing them they are supported in every part of their lives. She is the kind of teacher who leaves a lasting impact, both academically and personally, on everyone lucky enough to know her. It is our honor to present the 2025/2026 Hewitt Hero Award to Mrs. Sommers.
